At GroYourBiz Ltd., we’re committed to protecting and respecting your privacy.

This privacy policy (the “Policy”) explains when and why we collect personal information about people who visit our website, how we use it, the conditions under which we may disclose it to others and how we keep it secure.  Our website represents members (like yourself), and website visitors. We want to better explain our privacy practices to you and to reflect changes required by the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). If you are located in the European Union, these changes will go into effect for you as of May 23, 2018. If you are located outside of the European Union, these changes will go into effect for you as of June 23, 2018.

We may change this Policy from time to time so please check this page occasionally to ensure that you’re happy with any changes.

How do we collect information from you?

We obtain information about you when you use our website or write to us, for example, when:

  • you contact us about one or more of our advisory boards
  • you apply to become a member of one or more of our advisory boards
  • you contact us about our events
  • you contact us about your privacy rights
  • you contact us to provide social media content
  • you contact us to become a Chair of one our boards
  • you contact us to become a sponsor and/or an alliance affiliate

or, from third parties who you have separately authorised to provide such information.

 

16 OR UNDER? No

We are especially concerned with the protection of the privacy of children aged 16 or under. Children aged 16 or under are not eligible to use our services, and any submission of any personal information from children aged 16 or under is prohibited.

What type of information is collected from you?

We only collect as much information as is necessary or appropriate to provide you with our services. The personal information we collect might include your first name, last name, e-mail address, mobile telephone number, country of residence, company name, type of business (corporation, sole proprietorship, partnership) title, company address, business telephone number, number of employees, (regular full-time, part-time, contractors), annual gross revenue, date established, current credit card number, and how did you learn about our organization.

We might also, for purely statistical purposes, collect additional information such as your age, level of education, marital status and number of children. This information is not mandatory and you can always refuse to supply it without consequences to your application or membership. However, the caveat is that the omission may affect the content of certain services that we provide (for example, events targeted to your specific profile).

 

Why do we collect information from you?

The purposes for which we may collect your information include:

  • to answer your questions and requests for information and/or documents
  • to allow you to apply for membership to one or more of our advisory boards and to administer the application process
  • to seek your views or comments on the services we provide
  • to notify you of changes to our services
  • to send you communications which you have requested and that may be of interest to you
  • to provide a profile for you and your business on our website to assist with network contacts and introductions to other business relationships
  • for administrative purposes
  • to improve our website
  • for statistical purposes related to demographics
  • in connection with our legal rights and obligations
  • for certain additional purposes only with your explicit consent
  • for recruitment of new members and new Chairs

We review our retention periods for personal information on a regular basis. We will hold your personal information in our systems only for as long as is necessary for the relevant activity, or as long as is set out in any relevant contract, after which time it will be destroyed, unless we are legally required to hold some types of information to fulfill our statutory obligations. 

 

Who has access to your information?

We will not sell or rent your information to third parties.

We may transfer your personal information to a third party as part of a duty to disclose or share your personal data in order to comply with a legal obligation, for example, by a court order, or for the purposes of prevention of fraud or other crime, or to enforce or apply our Terms and Conditions or to protect the rights, property or safety of our clients. As part of the services offered to you through this website, the information which you provide us with may be transferred to countries outside of the EEA. By way of example, this may happen when Global virtual advisory boards are set up outside the EEA, and/or when we receive blogs or information about global events to post on our website, and/or our members are from such countries. These countries may not have equivalent data protection laws to the EU or benefit, as does Canada, for example, from an adequacy decision by the EU Commission. By submitting your personal data, you’re agreeing to this transfer and processing.
