“This is the sisterhood we didn’t know we were missing.”

Diana Mbogo is the Managing Director of Millennium Engineers, a renewable energy enterprise that has attracted over $1 million in investment and built two transformative fish industry ventures across Tanzania. Her work is reshaping access to clean energy and modern processing for fishing communities across Lake Victoria while uplifting women and improving health, sustainability, and economic dignity at every layer of the value chain.

In 2025, she takes on a new mantle: First GroYourBiz Chair for Africa—leading GroYourBiz Global Africa Virtual 1 Board, a high-impact, borderless advisory board platform for African women in business. In this role, Diana is not only building bridges in Africa, but curating a space where women can exhale, strategize, and thrive together.

Alongside her energy ventures, Diana continues to run two successful beauty spas and a boutique clothing shop because, as she often says, “there’s power in holding both purpose and polish.” Her journey spans bankruptcy to boardroom, from selling thrift fashion to survive as a single mother, to becoming a recognized voice in clean energy and women-led enterprise.

Diana “If I told you the full story, your lashes might fall off from the tears. Picture this: two toddlers balanced on my hips like accessories I couldn’t afford to lose, bankruptcy looming like an unpaid landlord, and the only room I had to myself was the bathroom, if I was lucky. I was living under my strong mother’s roof, a woman who reminded me daily that broken doesn’t mean done. Strong women raised me, caught me when I fell, and wrapped me until I could rebuild Millennium Engineers from the ashes. I’ve cried silently in front of crowds, wiped mascara streaks in boardrooms, and pitched with a pounding heart and an empty wallet. We don’t talk enough about this, the quiet crucible of womanhood. We fear that if we reveal what it really took to get here, we’ll look weak. But sis, this is where diamonds are made. Not in the spotlight but in the shadows. And I know now, our strength isn’t something to be softened. It’s something to be celebrated. Loudly”.

What sets her’s leadership apart isn’t just the scale of her work, it’s the soul she brings into every room she enters. Her story echoes the quiet power of many women who lead with grace in chaos, who build while bleeding, and who carry companies, children, and communities all at once, without dropping any of them. Diana doesn’t just talk about growth, she embodies it. Not the glossy kind, but the kind born from grit, faith, and a stubborn belief that women deserve more than survival, they deserve to soar.

And yes, her first book? It’s dropping soon. Unfiltered, unapologetic and undeniably powerful.
Through every title she wears engineer, entrepreneur, mother, daughter, sister, Diana carries one vision: to build a world where women don’t just rise alone… they rise together, hand in hand, crown to crown.
