Dr. Barbara Orser, friend and colleague, does it again!
In 1992 I chose Barb to do the very first research study on “The Nature and Extent of Home-Based Businesses”, when she was at Ryerson. I have followed her continuous research throughout the years, and am pleased to share her latest new study on “SMEs Business Financial Knowledge among WBOs and Males”.
The study documents the expressed financial knowledge needs of WBOs in Canada. The study learned that financial knowledge among women small business owners is lower, on average, than that of counterpart men small business owners. Even after controlling for systemic differences in age, education, experience and language, women business owners are 56 per cent more likely to be ranked as ‘below average’ in financial knowledge than counterpart men small business owners.
