Earlier this week, GroYourBiz organized an exciting networking reception for the 2015 Virginia Trade Mission to Vancouver. On Monday June 15th, after the first day of collaborative group meetings between the Virginia delegates and Canadian businesses, the Consul General of the United States of America, Lynne Platt, and Fasken Martineau Legal Office hosted the lovely reception for our Virginia delegates at the Consul General’s Residence.
The reception honoured the 2015 Virginia Trade delegation and connected select businesses from Virginia with other Canadian businesses. The Virginia delegates were:
Roger Porter, Virginia Economic Development Partnership
Keith Mascher, AMTI Microwave Circuits
Richard Flannery, Command Post Technology
Jonathan Hagmaier, Interactive Achievement
It was a fantastic evening for the Virginia delegates to network and mingle with Canadian professionals of shared knowledge and expertise. US Consul General, Lynne Platt, as well as Michelle Pockey (Fasken Martineau Partner and a GroYourBiz Trusted Advisor) provided welcoming speeches and key information on the special trade relationship between Virginia and Vancouver. BC Minister of Finance, Michael de Jong, provided an incredible speech on the importance of bilateral trade with Canada and the USA.
A special thank you to the US Consul, her brilliant team and Chef Claire’s Catering for hosting nearly 50 attendees at the reception. They were tremendous in every effort to welcome the Virginia delegates to Vancouver! Another thank you to Fasken Martineau for the Welcome Meeting provided at their office earlier Monday morning to give an economic overview as well as hosting the Virginia delegates throughout the day and of course at the reception later in the evening.
Thank you to everyone at the networking reception. GroYourBiz looks forward to future relations with all of the knowledgeable businesses and individuals in attendance!
